Two teenagers, one computer, one phone line. As you can imagine, it's a constant struggle in our house. We need the phone line to dial up to the Internet, but as we all know, with two teenagers in the house, a free phone line is as realistic as the Bigfoot. When we finally got online, our connection crawled, which was frustrating for everyone. Something needed to change! While we already had DIRECTV, I must admit, we weren't too familiar with high-speed satellite Internet when I began researching options. I'm definitely glad we decided to go with DIRECWAY Offered through DIRECTV. Not only did it free up our phone line, but the speed of the service made us wonder how we ever suffered through dial-up connections for so long. Best of all, we were able to set-up our DIRECWAY satellite dish with a DIRECTV Upgrade Kit, so we could get both DIRECWAY and DIRECTV with one dish! Now we can concentrate on more important issues, like explaining to our teenage kids that life will not end if you don't get your tongue pierced. Thanks DIRECWAY!

Is there anything worse than that sound that your computer makes when it's dialing in to the Internet? As if the speed isn't bad enough, but you have to listen to that screeching howl every time you dial in. It reminds me of someone dragging their fingers down a chalkboard. If you're like me, more than once in a while, you get booted off and you have to dial in again. You would think that after sitting through the noise, the rest of your Internet experience would make up for it... but not here! For me the whole experience is simply excruciating!

DIRECWAY Offered through DIRECTV has saved me! It has an always on connection. That means, no more fingers on the chalkboard! I sit down at my computer and I'm ready to go. And the speeds... no comparison. I'm downloading files in less time that it sometimes took me to even get to the web page I'm downloading from! I compare it to using a microwave oven for the first time. I was shocked that it could be so much quicker and easier.

I hate having a slow connection as much as the next person. The aggravation of dialing up and waiting for pages to load is a waste of my time. Unfortunately, I like to use my Instant Messenger and web-based email, and I wouldn't be able to use that if I got satellite Internet. That's what I used to think! What I needed was an online music source that wouldn't suck up the bandwidth I need to download files. I found it with DIRECWAY Offered through DIRECTV. I work from home a few days a week, and always used those online music jukeboxes, but I found that it slowed the overall performance of my computer. When I got DIRECWAY installed, I logged into myDIRECWAY.com, a website created only for DIRECWAY subscribers. I was able to find all types of helpful information about my account, but DIRECWAY Radio was definitely the coolest part! 10 stations of CD quality music with no commercials - FREE! DIRECWAY uses a technology called multicasting. Basically what this means is that they beam a second bandwidth stream down to my computer. One beam for my Internet, one for my DIRECWAY music. That way, I can listen to music while I work, but it doesn't affect the speed I need to download files and get my work done quickly.
